Advancing Quality (AQ)
Advancing Quality (AQ) is a high reliability / reducing unwarranted variation in care programme operated by the Advancing Quality Alliance (AQuA).
The AQ programme aims to support NHS healthcare organisations to improve the reliability of clinical practices. Driven by the needs of participating organisations, the programme offers members a structured approach to embedding evidence based care across a range of highly prevalent conditions, enabling the highest quality care to be provided to every patient, every time.
A central AQ team, made up of clinical, analytics and improvement experts, provide tailored support to healthcare organisations, working collaboratively with local teams to embed high reliability across systems, processes and practices.
AQ Programme Priorities:
- Improve patient and health outcomes
- Increased safety and reliability of clinical systems and processes
- Improved scale, scope and spread of best practice
- Increased capacity and capability in evidence based methods
- Increased productivity and efficiency gains
- Reduce unwarranted variations
AQ is also exploring a reliability offer in primary care, working with CCGs, GP Federations and practices to provide a systematic approach to the identification, diagnosis and optimal management of patients. Please contact us for further information in this area.
Membership for the Advancing Quality programme is separate to the Advancing Quality Alliance (AQuA) membership process. You can find more information about the AQ programme by contacting Liz Kanwar (AQ Programme Manager) on Liz.Kanwar@srft.nhs.uk.
